Annie was born May 9, 1934 to the late Healon and Lula Hooper, in Brackett Town, NC. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 10, 2019.
She was a graduate of Hudgins High School. She also attended McDowell Tech and Isothermal Community College.
She served on the board of directors with Community Empowerment, she was willing to help and donate her time to anyone. She joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in the early 60's. She was a member of the Senior Choir, Missionary Circle, Kitchen Committee and she loved visiting the sick and shut in with the Missionaries.
She retired from JC Cowan Burlington Plant in Forest City, NC. After her retirement she looked forward to traveling with her cousin Melviney " Sis" Lynch.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband; Golden B. Whitesides, one son; Timothy Joe Edgerton, sisters; Geneva Hooper Kirk, Irene Hooper-Henry and Gladys Henry, brothers; Carl Eugene Hooper, Authur Leroy Hooper, Fred Albert Hooper, Walter Austin Hooper and Frank Rutherford.
Annie leaves to cherish the memories of her life: two daughters; Regina Hooper Powell of Forest City, NC, Thelia (Beth) Thompson of Manassas Park, Va., two sons; Rex L. Edgerton of Morganton, NC, William (Bo) Hooper of Forest City, NC, a special family member, Edith S. Isbell of Nebo, NC, eleven grand kids, seventeen great grand kids, one sister; Cora Lee Forney (Ralph) of Jacksonville, Florida, one sister-in-law; Emma Kate Hooper of Marion, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.The service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Lake Lure NC.
